If your stomach muscles are covered in fat, you can do crunches and situps to your heart's content, but it will have very little effect.

That's because situps and crunches don't burn fat and can't flatten your stomach.

All you have to do is stand up straight for the vacuum pose. Then inhale. As you are exhaling, suck in your stomach really hard and fast. Then hold that position for a few seconds and release. And that's all there is to it.

Just set a goal of doing this for a total of 5 minutes each and every day. If you commit to doing this for a month, I can almost assure you that you will lose at least a couple of inches from your waist.

Hula hoops for waist definition

Hula hoops are great for targeting the hips and waist areas. If you're looking for a natural hourglass figure, reach for a hula hoop.

Just make sure you use a weighted hula hoop for this exercise, not one of the cheap hula hoops that kids use. The cheap ones don't work because you won't be able to keep them up long enough for the exercise to be effective. They don't weight enough and they spin too quickly. It will keep falling to the ground.

Weighted hula hoops spin slower, which means you'll be able to keep them up longer.

Just try to use a hula hoop for 10 minutes each day.
